Frequently Asked Questions

Q - Why should I join the NES PTA?
A - The NES PTA is a non-profit organization whose main purpose is to raise funds to pay for items and events to help teachers and administrators enrich the education of our children. The items that are paid for by the PTA are not provided by the county, state, or federal governments. In addition to raising funds for NES, the PTA is also responsible for helping to promote a sense of community at NES by providing events such as the popsicle social, Kids Craft Day, Family BINGO night, Spring Carnival and 5k and Fun Run.

Q - What exactly do my membership dues pay for?
A - Simply stated, dues help pay for items and events your child will receive or experience at NES. Each child, whether their parents join the PTA or not will receive the benefits. Membership dues as well as funds raised throughout the year from events and fundraisers are used to pay for:

  • Student planners and publications
  • Offset costs of field trips
  • Offset costs for FARM Students
  • Cultural and educational events and assemblies
  • School supplies
  • Artist in residence programs
  • Special meals for teachers
  • Teacher Appreciation Week treats for teachers

Q - How do I get involved in PTA meetings, events, or the board?
A - We are glad you asked this question!  We are always in need of volunteers to help with the PTA.  Once you join, you will have access to all NES PTA sponsored events, contact information for board members, and can register to attent PTA meetings.  The NES Community can be even more awesome- with you involved!
