Involvement with the PTA starts with Membership. If that is all your family can manage this year, we welcome the support! Next, if you want to dig in a little deeper, then volunteer! You can volunteer once, several times, or on a regular basis. Finally, you can chair an event or a series of events, which means you plan, develop, and execute an activity with a team of volunteers.

 CHAIR POSITIONS

• Audit Team
  Meets this summer to review and audit NES PTA financial records.
• Cultural Arts Chair
  Plans, books and coordinates student assemblies throughout the year. This role leads the direction of our children’s programming in school. Our current chair can paint a very clear picture of what this position entails and share lots of details of how to move forward.
• PTACHC Delegate (PTA Council of Howard County)
  Attends the monthly PTACHC Meetings (a mix of virtual and in-person) and reports back to the NES PTA with updates. Our current delegate can paint a great picture of what this role entails.
• CAC Representative (Community Advisory Council)
  Attends the monthly CAC Meetings (a mix of virtual and in-person) and reports back to the NES PTA with updates. Our current representative can paint a great picture of what this roles entails
• Back 2 School Boogie Chair
  Do you love to celebrate the beginning of the school year? We need help planning, facilitating and supporting our "welcome back: celebration. This position requires, with the support of other PTA volunteers, organizing food trucks, DJ, registration and other details. Back 2 School Bookie requires planning to begin July-September.
• Fundraising/Direct Donation Chair
  Would be the point person under VP1 to lead the fundraising efforts throughout the year. With the support of a fundraising committee, coordinate BoxTops, Community Sponsorship, SpiritWear, School Supplies, Direct Donation, Orioles Night, and Penny Wars.
• Restaurant Night Chair
  Are you a Foodie who has a relationship with all the best chefs in Ellicott City? Help us coordinate monthly restaurant night fundraisers at family friendly restaurants in the local area. This position requires calling restaurants to set a date and promoting the event through various channels.
• School Supply Chair
  Every year the PTA offers School Supply Kits for families to purchase. We need a volunteer to help coordinate and organize the sale (May/June 2022) and distribution (August 2022) of these kits. This position is approximately 10 hours or less of volunteering.
• Co-Lead for Hospitality Efforts
  Working with existing Hospitality leadership to plan B2SChool Breakfast, monthly ways to celebrate staff, and Teacher Appreciation Week (May)
• After School/School Wide Activities Chair
